The UMSI External Advisory Board is a distinguished group of nationally recognized information-related experts drawn from industry and academia who counsel the school about matters related to a wide range of topics, including research initiatives and curriculum development. Each month, we profile one member of the EAB.

Matthew Forsythe leads search and navigation for Target.com and Target’s mobile app. In this role he is responsible for customer site search, SEO, and site navigation. Prior to this role he oversaw product management for Groupon’s Application Operations, Customer Experience and Deal Set-up divisions.

Additionally, he is currently leading the development of a revolutionary mobile app, CheerfulGive, which will aid nonprofits in increasing their donations. Before joining Groupon, he led operations and business development in Chicago for DaVita, the nation’s largest dialysis provider.

Forsythe holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and a master of science in information from the University of Michigan. He also has a master’s degree in education and a MBA from Stanford University.
